Qwirkle Rules- Starting Out Before starting gameplay, each player must count the greatest number of tiles that have either color or shape in common. This is the number that will be announced to the other players; the player with the highest number starts the game and uses those tiles to start gameplay.
When you create a line, you score one point for each tile in that line (including the tiles that already existed on the grid). When a tile is part of two different lines, it will score 2 points. You score 6 bonus points whenever you complete a line of 6 tiles, which is called a Qwirkle.
Deal 13 piles of four cards - 12 in a circular pattern as if on to the hours of a clock, and one into the clock's centre. Turn over the top card of the central pile. Tuck it, face-up, beneath whichever hour pile matches its rank (ie five o'clock for a five, one o'clock for an ace), then turn over that pile's top card.
